Breach of the peace (Common Law)

This is when a person disrupts, or does something which is likely to disrupt, the normal state of society. 

Any person can conduct a citizen’s arrest for a breach of the peace.

Magistrates can order that a person is ‘bound over to keep the peace’. This is imposed to prevent any further breaches occurring.
