Unlawful Importations

Cases of this nature are normally prosecuted by the HMRC (Her Majesties Revenue & Customs).  Whether these importations cover drugs, tobacco or other types of contraband, we are able to deal with the case. 

There have been occasions when items seized by Customs do not result in a criminal prosecution but in retention of those items.  We have good links with specialist counsel who are able to appear before the appropriate Tribunal to make those representations.

If these matters do result in criminal prosecutions then it is quite often the case that on conviction a proceeds of crime application would be made by HMRC Prosecution Office and those too need to be dealt with before the court.
