Dangerous
Driving
Crown Courts can hand down a maximum sentence of
10 years and unlimited fines for causing death by dangerous driving of a
motorized vehicle on a road or public place.
Magistrates can give a
6 month prison sentence and a £5000 fine and Crown Courts can give 2
years in prison with unlimited fines for dangerous driving.
A driver must stop
when required to by a uniformed constable. This is an arrestable offence.
