Speeding
There are numerous legal challenges that can be made in 'speeding' cases, both as to the technology employed and the way in which the prosecution seek to present it; whilst the least serious speeding offence carries only 3 penalty points these offences represent the single most common cause of an accumulation of 12 penalty points and the consequential risk of a disqualification on the grounds of 'totting up'.
We have access to a considerable body of literature about the various types of technology used by the police to secure 'evidence' of speeding; we have substantial courtroom experience of cases of this type and frequently either challenge the evidence to the point where the prosecuting authority are compelled to withdraw proceedings or, alternatively, negotiate a compromise for the benefit of our clients. We are acutely aware that substantial excess speed can result in the immediate loss of a licence and, as a consequence, the loss of employment. We have substantial experience of advising clients in this predicament and are able to present, eloquently and with the benefit of several years experience, your case to the magistrates.
