The Criminal Damage Act 1971 makes it an offence to destroy or damage property belonging to someone else. 

Intended damage is included in the Act. There is a maximum sentence at Magistrates Court of 6 months in prison and a £5000 fine. 

Crown Court can hand down a 10 year prison sentence.
